Mr. Kogan is a Partner with Hudson Martin PC. Mr. Kogan joins Hudson Martin as seasoned business attorney with over 25 years of experience who also brings to clients significant practical business experience having worked as General Counsel for both a technology company and most recently as General Counsel and ultimately CEO of one of California’s largest cannabis industry pioneers.
Mr. Kogan and Ms. Witten have had the opportunity to work together a few times over the course of their careers beginning in 1999 when they were both attorneys with the Grunsky law firm and members of a founding group of attorneys focusing on the firm’s technology law practice. Gavin is committed to his clients in Hudson Martin’s sophisticated business transactional and estates practice and personally handles joint ventures and alliances; capital raising transactions (offerings of debt and equity securities); restructurings and recapitalizations; structured finance transactions; secured transactions; intellectual property transfers; and, a wide variety of corporate, partnership, trusts, multi-generational strategy, and LLC governance matters. While Mr. Kogan brings unique expertise in emerging markets, his depth of high-growth business experience serves Hudson Martin clients across all market sectors.
In 2014, Mr. Kogan co-found and served as General Counsel to Lowell Farms Co. (fka Indus Holdings), which became a publicly traded enterprise focused on farming, manufacture, and distribution of the highly regarded Lowell Brands product line (CSE:LOWL). In 2016, Mr. Kogan went on to co-found Grupo Flor, which became a leading vertically integrated company. At Grupo Flor, Mr. Kogan served as General Counsel, Chief Branding Officer and from 2019 through 2022, served as Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Kogan is a member of the California State Bar Association, the International Cannabis Bar Association and is a co-founding member of the Monterey County Cannabis Industry Association and the California Cannabis Manufacturer’s Association. In 2019, Mr. Kogan was appointed by the California Cannabis Industry Association to serve on “Federal Advocacy Panel” in Washington D.C. where he advocated for industry banking and finance reform. Gavin is a frequent panel speaker, author, and guest contributor to industry publications.
Mr. Kogan is a resident of Carmel Valley where he lives with his wife and family – his youngest son a senior at Carmel High School. Gavin is a lifetime surfer and committed to the local community, and to the protection of our beautiful Monterey Bay.
