Pro Bono Works

Hudson Martin’s pro bono commitment is key to who we are and is the reason why many of our attorneys have made their professional home here. We believe that all lawyers have a moral obligation to do pro bono work, and we strive to be the best at all that we do. We are committed to our community and supporting the community through pro bono work. We encourage our lawyers to devote a significant percentage of their time to charity work that supports the community we share.

CASA of Monterey County

Board of Director of Court Appointed Special Advocates for 10 years, now serving as Board Chair Emeritus.   CASA is a nonprofit organization providing advocacy for abused children. Like the mockingbird used by Lee to symbolize innocence and victims of injustice, the children caught in the Dependency System of Monterey County are the innocent victims of abuse and neglect. Over time, a CASA volunteer advocate builds a relationship with such a child and gains an understanding of the child’s living situation and future custody options. The judge deciding the child’s case heavily relies upon the findings of the advocate in making a custody decision that is truly in the best interest of the child.
